About "The Archives"
"The Archives" were established sometime during the years of 1981 and 1984. The first jester was drawn by me (Thorpe, a.k.a. Jesterdood) at Bonneville High School (10th grade) during Ms. Ballantyne's Spanish class. As is often the case in a classroom setting, I took to drawing doodles on my notepad. One of those doodles took the unmistakable form of a jester.
I didn't think much of it at the time, but then I heard laughter coming from the seat next to me. "Igo" (who eventually would become the official founder and keeper of "The Archives") had seen the primitive "jesterdoodle" I had done. He was rocking to and fro in his seat with laughter. (Ms. Ballantyne continued teaching Spanish, oblivious to the importance that the jester symbol would later bring to the likes of myself, Igo, Thomps, and Bonneville High School.)
My obsession with jesters had begun, and soon I was drawing them all over the school, much like a dog marking his territory. There were jester symbols etched on desks, walls, lockers, text books--you name it, there was a jester drawn on it. The jester symbol would become something of a religious icon, and while Thomps, Igo and I could see the goodness in it, others (mostly the faculty) feared it and considered it the work of the Devil. The jester would later get Thomps and me in a great deal of trouble, but that's another story entirely.
Many of the original jester drawings and other noteworthy doodles (either created by myself or Thomps between 1981 and 1984) would quickly be snatched up by Igo, and filed away for safe keeping. This body of art comprised what would be known as "The Archives."
Under Igo's protection and custodianship, "The Archives" were kept safe, and rested dormant for nearly 15 years. Dormant, that is, until now...
